If you have verifiable experience with land or offshore based oil and gas HSE responsibilities in the areas of drilling/completions, well intervention, P&A, offshore construction/platform removal
HSE SPECIALISTS' RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide visible leadership.
- Administer and assist with implementation of clients safety policies, standards and procedures.
- Liaises with onsite leadership and management to create facility specific HSE goals, priorities and key performance measures.
- Provide guidance to personnel on HSE policies, procedures, and standards. Conduct audits of client operations as required, supporting applicable HSE standards for compliance.
- Report incidents of all types (including contractors) to Management, through web-based reporting system.
- Verify that all employees, subcontractors, visitors, etc are familiar with their roles and responsibilities outlined in the Emergency Response Plan and/or Station Bill.
- Monitor compliance with Permit to Work, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Work Safe Procedures, Risk Assessments (Operational Risk Management) Standards as required.
- Monitor adequate safety equipment, i.e. personal protective equipment, safety belts, harnesses etc.
- Review audit and inspection reports; monitor completion of corrective actions (Corrective and Preventive Action Reports where applicable).
- Assist client in identifying opportunities for and completion of After Action Reviews (AAR).
- Lead and/or participate in HSE related activities including but not limited to risk assessments, audits/assessments (both internal and external), pre-tour and pre-job safety meetings, After Action Reviews, Continual Improvement Plans, Hazard Hunts, etc.
- Conduct site safety inductions for new employees, visitors, and sub-contractors.
- Monitor work sites and operations to ensure that a safety culture exists, encouraging employees to take total ownership and be accountable and responsible for their health and safety.
- Participate in HSE related incident investigations. Follow up corresponding corrective actions until closure.
- Monitor compliance of HSE standards and procedures during critical operations.
- Conduct dedicated observations tours.
- Perform additional duties, responsibilities, and special projects as may be directed.
HSE SPECIALISTS' Preferred Requirements
- 5 plus years experience in on-site HSE role in the oil and gas industry
- In the field, on-site, relevant experience in the Gulf of Mexico and Land Based HSE Consulting
- Field based on a rotational base
- Good working knowledge of the O&G industry HSE requirements and managing contractor safety.
- Fully conversant with current oil and gas safety regulations in the offshore and land based environments.
- Experience integrating safety requirements effectively and execution of standards in the field.
- Ability to understand the workforce within the social environment as well as in the structured workplace by developing interpersonal relationships, creating strong open relationships with good communications within the team.
- Experience in performing safety audits, and supporting incident investigation.
- Excellent planning and organizing skills.
- Ability to work remotely and independently; Experience in coaching preferred.
